Sherry Rogers states that painting takes her to a place of joy and contentment, as she loses herself consciously during the process - and just lets emotion take over and carry her through.

Sherry loves the outdoors. She actually surrounds herself with nature. She and her husband often travel and enjoy hiking, camping and fishing (he fishes - she paints). She feels an awe of nature and strives to show that feeling in her work.

She likes to paint plein air, whether it is a beach scene, a quaint cottage, or a moody landscape. She
loves to capture the delicate beauty of a flower, whether interpreting a garden or a still life. She sees so much beauty around her and feels it is a challenge to capture this, and a real emotional experience when she does.

Sherry has a loose, impressionistic style. She paints whenever she can; she doesn't wait for the mood, as
that creative spark is always there just under the surface, waiting to be expressed.

She has studied art at the Cottonwood Art Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She has taken art instruction from many impressive and successful artists such as Ray Vanila, Sparky LaBold, Chuck Mardosz, CJ Chadwell, Mary Dolf Wood, Michael Gault, Irmi Knoth, Martha Mans, and Gwen Fox.

When selling a favorite painting, she is so happy to share the beautiful emotion of the moment with another. It is a constant challenge to get down what you feel about a particular scene you see - to convey a certain mood. She wants the viewer to feel this without analyzing - just feeling ... as she does.
